• Kick off your tour with a perfect Pickering's G&T at The Royal Dick Pub at Summerhall.

• Let us introduce you to our story as a modern and innovative producer of gin in Scotland, as we opened the first exclusive gin distillery in Edinburgh in over 150 years back in 2014 in the Old Veterinary College of the University.

• Learn about how we developped our core range from a recipe written down in Bombay back in 1947.

• Explore our quirky inventions and take home a miniature bottle of Pickering's Gin.

• Wrap up your tour with a tutored tasting of our core range.

The perfect experience to (re)discover Scottish Terroir and the range of expressions whisky offers with The Broody Hen, an exclusive spirit of Summerhall Distillery.

Our tutored tasting will take you through our whisky tavern where you will discover the complex history that shaped the national spirit over the centuries as you are enjoying a selection of 4 drams of the Broody Hen Scotch range.

Highlights of your tour:

• Discover a unique and exclusive spirit only available at Summerhall Distillery.

• Let us talk you through the evolution of the spirit over the centuries.

• Lear about the smugglers and how thousands of stills were distilling the spirit illicitly for over 150 years.

• Enjoy 4 dramsof whisky in a very rustic atmosphere in our tavern.

• Wrap up your tour with a peak in our distillery where we bottle and label all our bottles by hand.

Are you a history lover and a gin enthusiast? We’ve combined the two for our Peacocktail experience! Starting with the history behind Pickering’s Gin, you’ll be shown around our production spaces and understand the process behind making our award-winning gin. Moving to our boardroom you’ll learn about the surprising origins of gin, how it evolved through the ages, and the beginning of the gin boom, all while enjoying delicious Pickering’s Gins.

• Enjoy a cocktail as you listen to the fascinating story behind the recipe.

Our masterclass is a one-of-a-kind sensory journey where you'll be mixing up your very own cocktails whilst learning about their history and origin. Each cocktail is paired with a stunning selection of Scottish cheeses from local cheesemonger I.J. Mellis, acclaimed in Edinburgh for their choice of the finest farmhouse cheeses. 

Saturdays and Sundays - 12:00 / A minimum of 2 person is required to book this tour

• Learn how to craft 3 cocktail recipes and take the skills back home with you.

• Become and expert on how to match flavours together and create the perfect match of cocktail and cheese.

• Load on fun facts about drinks and cocktails

• Come back to explore our new seasonal recipes and get a 10% discount on your booking.

Includes:
1x 6 farmhouse cheeses board - all ingredients for 3x full- strentgh cocktails

If you have any allergies and want to book our tour, please get in touch in advance and we will do our best to adjust our recipes. Due to the nature of the event, we will not be able to adjust on the day without prior notice.

Any modification or cancelation for this tour must be made at least 48 hours prior to the day of the booking. We will charge £20 per person for any rescheduling or cancelation happening within 48 hours of the date for the cheese and the fruits used on the tour.
